Non-Violent Capitol Protestors Josh & Jessica Bustle Re-educated, Punished for "Thought Crimes"
The Court made a point hammering the couple about their personal beliefs on the efficacy of Covid vaccines, punishing them for first amendment protected activity and political opinions.
A Virginia couple, Josh and Jessica Bustle have been sentenced in relation to the January 6 Capitol Hill event. The couple were actually out at a different rally regarding medical freedom and then decided to check out the “stop the steal” rally. Therefore they had no “advanced plan” to storm the capitol or do anything illegal. Nonetheless, they had the wrong politics. Had the rioters been left-wing, they would have avoided any charges. Perhaps like Antifa rioters who looted and destroyed DC in 2017 at Trump’s inauguration they would have received a million dollar legal settlement and payment from the city1. According to Court documents the couple where non-violent, had no prior plans to do anything illegal, were simply attempting to exercise lawful first amendment rights but got swept up in a protest that got out of hand.
The above image is the initial Complaint2 that was filed.
This is from the Bustles Statement of Offense3, as you can see they simply entered the Capitol, through doors that were already opened and walked around for 20 minutes then left. The Bustles can actually be seen standing and talking casually to Capitol Police. They committed no acts of violence or vandalism. They had no prior “plans” or “schemes” to “storm the capital.”
The document goes on to mention the signs that Jessica held, and some posts she made on social media. None of that speech is illegal. The couple were sentenced to home arrest, and fined for their “meandering” in a building for less than half an hour. A neo-Stasi deranged website called “sedition hunters” has been recruiting people to “hunt down” Trump supporters. How soon before they start physically hunting down and lynching people who have different political opinions? This is dangerous promotion of vigilante acts of violence. The website’s endorsement of violence is made clear by the gun cross hairs logo4 featured prominently at the top of the site.
This website has a list of people and encourages citizens to become vigilantes and “hunt” people down. They peddle conspiracy theories about Capitol rioters being “seditionists” despite not one person being charged in connection with the riot being charged with “sedition” or “insurrection.” These websites, probably run by left-wing extremists are very dangerous for democracy. They encourage snitching and informing on others, but more than that they are attempting to normalize dehumanization and vigilantism.
The couple ended up pleading guilty in June to a misdemeanor charge of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building, with the sentencing hearing yesterday.
Jessica was punished more, due to her “social media” posts and her opinions regarding vaccines. The Daily Beast used this to smear the couple5, referring to them as “anti-vaxxers” rather than human beings.
Another problematic legal precedent being set is the Court making a point about “collective guilt”, claiming that people who were not at all violent that day are somehow “collectively” responsible for the actions of violent rioters or those who had advanced planning.
The prosecutor cited her Facebook posts, which were perfectly legal first amendment protected activity as the reason she should be punished more than her husband. Calling Mike Pence a “traitor” and claiming we need a “revolution” is the reason they say she needs 3 months of home confinement not one. There are many leftists who called Trump a traitor for years and called for revolution, while protesting outside the White House for months. These folks said they would pull Trump out of the White House and string him up, while he was still the sitting president and none of them were charged for anything.
This exchange makes clear the couple had to be “re-educated” and had to get off social media so they could lead a “new happy life”. This is shocking because it is really similar to what happens in Communist China.
Alan can’t help but see things through the lens of a New York Times reporting leftist.
In addition to 30 days of home confinement, Hogan sentenced Joshua to two years probation, 40 hours of community service, a $10 special assessment, and $500 restitution. Jessica was sentenced to 60 days of home confinement, two years probation, a $10 special assessment, and $500 restitution.
Judge Hogan claimed part of his rationale for giving the pair a non-custodial sentence stemmed from the fact the Bustles were in D.C. for an anti-vaccine rally—and not at “Trump’s behest to disrupt the election.”
If this is the logic these Judges are using, why not charge Trump then? If they are claiming Trump called on regular people to disrupt the election, wouldn’t that make him responsible?
By the way, Jessica is pregnant. They put her through this hell while she was pregnant for walking through a building, peacefully for 20 minutes. She has been threatened and harassed by left-wing extremists.
This is the so called “evidence” of their “crimes,” strolling inside a building.
Look how scary and dangerous the pregnant women looks walking, calmly.
This is literally one of the social media posts the prosecutors are calling “incendiary.”
This is the couple outside the capitol that day, they are not “rioting” or doing anything violent.
This is another of the “incendiary” social media posts made by Jessica.
She says “I refuse to fall for the hate and divide” which I don’t see as “incendiary” at all and she holds a sign that says “mandatory medial procedures have no place in a free society” which is true.
This was Jessica holding her sign, showing the other side of it.
The Court going after a pregnant woman because she is concerned about vaccine efficacy is insane. This is where we are at today in America, thought crimes and re-education for political and medical opinions.
