Major Bombshells in Day 6 of the Retrial in the Michigan Whitmer Kidnapping Plot Case
Testimony by FBI's lead informant makes the FBI look much, much worse!
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Before we get into the major bombshells that came out during today’s hearing I just wanted to provide some highlights on what we have learned the past few days.
We learned that the FBI planted explosives on a defendant so they could later seize them when they arrested him.
We learned that the FBI, via their network of informants, created Facebook pages for fake militia’s that they can gave to one of the defendants.
We learned a female FBI informant by the name of Jenny Plunk shared a hotel room and bed with the male target of the FBI’s investigation. We don’t know what happened in the bed, but can guess.
We learned that during an April 30, 2020 rally at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing the FBI told the MSP to open the doors of the Capitol building to allow protestors in.

Moving on to what we learned today.
The FBI’s lead informant Dan “Big Dan” Chappel was on the stand on continued cross examination by Adam Fox attorney Chris Gibbons.
The defense has done a good job in breaking down the payments that were made to “Big Dan,” their lead informant code named THOR.
The FBI paid Dan for 17 weeks of “lost wages,” for full time work he was allegedly doing as a truck driver for the USPS. He was paid in cash by the FBI. They gave him envelopes of cash like something out of a Hollywood mafia movie.
The Feds paid Dan $7k for a training event in August of 2020. He was paid $10k cash for a fake fednapping recon trip on Whitmer’s cottage and to meet new undercover FBI agent in September of 2020.
Big Dan was given $6k cash in October of 2020, a week AFTER arrests in the case. Then inexplicably he was given another $23,540 in CASH in December of 2020 - months AFTER the arrests had been made. This is taxpayer money being used to gin up fake plots.
During this time Dan is pretending to be an officer in a fake militia group that was created to fool Adam Fox. Fox was inducted into the fake Michigan Three Percenters by FBI informant and career felon Steve Robeson. He was given a fake Facebook page set up by the FBI.
Adam Fox was an indigent man, at times homeless and living in the basement of a vacuum repair shop. Over the course of the caper, Big Dan offered prepaid credit cards with $5k to Fox and others to buy weapons, ammo pay for hotel rooms, etc. Fox was unemployed and broke because of the pandemic lockdowns during this time and he was trying to impress Dan who he looked up to.
The FBI urged Big Dan to keep pushing the credit cards, which had been furnished by FBI informant Robeson the head of the fake Wisconsin militia group. Fox and the other broke men never took the cards.
Big Dan talked to Adam Fox almost daily. They talked via messaging apps and phone calls. It is clear Dan initiated most of this contact, and that Adam wasn’t the leader of anything. Dan was essentially running things. He was the one who was seen by everyone as the leader, not Adam Fox.
At the July meeting at the “Vac Shack,” Big Dan - while wearing a wire that had a transmitter for the FBI handlers to listen in, suggested to the guys firing live rounds into Governor’s mansions in multiple states - firing 3 rounds into Whitmer’s cottage that could look like a hunting accident and other extreme topics according to the defense. Dan tries to explain this away by claiming he suggested that stuff to actually “de-escalate” things.
Then the next month at the August meeting with his FBI handlers listening in suggests to the defendants blowing up Whitmer’s cottage or ambushing her on her way to the cottage.
Dan then prompts the group to conduct a “surveillance” of the cottage, how to blow up the bridge with access to the cottage. At every single meeting, Adam Fox is stoned.
Big Dan then admits he planned the ruse to get defendants to the arrest site on October 7, 2020. The ruse was to buy military gear from another FBI undercover agent named Red. Dan is asked if anyone tried to give Red money for a bomb as the government alleged and Dan says no.
The saddest part of the testimony today involved a disabled Vietnam veteran who is elderly. Big Dan and his FBI handler Jayson Chambers attempted to entrap a 70 year old man named Frank Butler to do the same to Governor Ralph Northam. They wanted this to be a “multi-state domestic terror” plot they could “foil.”
Text messages uncovered during discovery in the first trial showed FBI Handling Agent Chambers saying to Big Dan “mission is to kill the Governor, specifically.” The Defense asks Big Dan about his messages to the 70 year old disabled veteran in Virginia, Frank Butler. Big Dan and his FBI handler discuss giving Butler a recipe to make bombs out of Draino.
Big Dan is asked about some of the things he got the FBI to pay for. He is asked about a receipt for $4k for a computer he wanted for college. The FBI reimbursed him for it. He said they just volunteered to pay for it. When asked how did the FBI learn you bought a laptop for college he said they were developing a relationship with him and he with them.
Big Dan attended the rally on April 30, 2020 at the Lansing Capitol. He testified yesterday that he was the one who alerted the FBI that the less than a dozen Watchman there might become violent. Because of this, the FBI instructed MSP to stand down and allow protesters into the building. We see something eerily similar occur on January 6, 2021 at the US Capitol.
There was another rally at the Lansing Capitol on June 18. Barry Croft wasn’t there.
The defense brings up photos from the Munith home of Musico and Morrison. This was one of the properties that had been raided by the FBI. They had doors kicked in and the place was a wrecked after a search warrant was executed. The Prosecutor Nils Kessler objects and claims that the defense is just trying to make the FBI look bad.
Blanchard, lawyer for Barry Croft then proceeds to go over all the chat groups and events that Croft wasn’t part of.
Big Dan admits that despite the investigation beginning in March of 2020, by August of 2020 things were falling apart. People were leaving the group and there was no plan. Dan admits by August of 2020 there was NO PLAN to kidnap the governor. The investigation should have been shut down at that point. But that isn’t what happened. The idea that the FBI infiltrated the group to thwart a kidnapping plot that was already in motion is now confirmed to be a total lie.
Big Dan is forced to admit the near total lack of involvement of Barry Croft with the group. It’s going to be really hard for the jury to find there was some sort of conspiracy between Adam Fox and Barry Croft, the two remaining defendants.
Speaking to Brandon Caserta, a former defendant in the case who was acquitted and found not guilty by the prior jury (they found the FBI had entrapped him and Daniel Harris) during today’s hearing, I discuss Big Dan’s inconsistent statements. Brandon says “Right but instead of owning it he just blames everything he did on Adam. Like that was Adam’s idea, Adam told me I should say or do this. And it's like no he didn't chambers did, didn't he? Well well well ‘no that’s not what I asked, chambers gave you direction on that right?’ Yes he did...”
The defense lawyers then get Big Dan to admit he purchased a laptop just 3 days before the “ruse” event to get the guys arrested. Big Dan told lured them to the arrest site with offers of free gear (left over from the FTX’s) and hot wings and beer. Big Dan picks up and brings the targets to the arrest site where an FBI Hostage Rescue Team is lying in wait. They have snipers on the roof. They are dressed in tactical swat gear, including night vision googles. Dan directed the men to the back of the truck where he them a lower receiver of a rifle to hold as the FBI descended on them. The defense lawyers point out that the receiver looks like a gun. This is incredibly dangerous and this could have gotten the men killed.
Side Note: During my exclusive interview with Brandon Caserta he says the FBI Agents joked about killing the guys when they arrested them. If you have not watched it, you can do so here.
The FBI Hostage Rescue Team used flash bangs and aimed multiple targets on a man’s chest as he just stood there. The FBI used an MRAP military armored tactical vehicle.
According to Newsweek, that very same Hostage Rescue Team met with other elite FBI units at Quantico a week in advance of J6- a tactical training session planned by AAG Jeffrey Rosen.

Unfortunately, based on FBI testimony, the IRS will now be pursuing BIG DAN for tax evasion for not claiming all that CASH money on his taxes that the FBI agents paid to him for doing the FBI's dirty work.
